🔗 Share this article The Game UN:Me: An Cerebral Horror That Blends Silent Hill and Among Us Mechanics The recent Day of the Devs online presentation unveiled several fascinating upcoming titles, but one in particular has captured attention: UN:Me. Developed by Historia and Shueisha Games, this solo experience appears to blend the dread-filled setting of a Silent Hill game with the suspicion-driven heart of Among Us. "It's a unique game where a young woman containing multiple human souls inside her must escape from a labyrinth of the mind," states developer Yasukazu Kawai. Entering a Shattered Mind In UN:Me, players assume the role of an unnamed heroine seeming to be of high school age. Inside her exist four distinct personas, each with their own fears and drives. These souls can take over spontaneously, unleashing their innermost phobias upon her without warning. Based on revealed footage, much of the narrative takes place within a creepy medical facility, though other scenes depict the main character exploring a abandoned church. An Environment of Individual Dread "What are you afraid of? What makes you uneasy?" poses game director Shun Sasaki. "Heights. Confined spaces. Authority figures. Things that appear minor to other people can activate something primal within us. This game explores that idea — fears that are unique to each person." The central gameplay loop involves controlling the persona that surfaces at any given moment. However, these souls will change against your will during gameplay. During exploration, each soul's anxieties become amplified and attack the girl one after another. As the persona changes, so does the specific fear the player experiences. Unsettling Visuals and a Fatal Choice Initially, UN:Me displays noticeable visual similarities with the Silent Hill series. The hospital is filled with nurses who all share the same face, with disturbingly broad smiles. Figures in the lobby have large flowers growing from their heads are. Floral motifs are a recurring theme, juxtaposing natural beauty with supernatural dread. Yet, UN:Me introduces a unique mechanic. Players are tasked with deducing which of the four entities inhabiting the protagonist is the "true" one. "Each of the souls claims that the physical form belongs to them," notes a creator. "During the game, you need to figure out who is real." Once players believes a soul is fake, they must eliminate it. However, since each soul can deceive or hide the reality, it is incredibly simple to make a mistake. "Perhaps you've already destroyed the real [soul] with your own hands," the narration states. "The last one standing could be a fake. In any case, your choices are irreversible." UN:Me does not yet have a confirmed launch window, but it is can be wishlist on digital storefronts.
