Arsenal Take On Wolverhampton Wanderers in Crucial Premier League Clash

All eyes turn for a fascinating top-flight contest as front-runners Arsenal entertain struggling Wolves to the Emirates Stadium.

Starting Lineups

Mikel Arteta's side have made three changes following the team that endured a 2-1 defeat at Aston Villa last weekend. The French defender, the Swedish striker and the Brazilian winger all start in the lineup. Martin Ødegaard and the Spanish midfielder drop to the substitutes' bench, while the Italian defender is absent. The centre-back returns after sitting out five matches through injury.

Wolves also make three changes to their starting XI after being soundly beaten 4-1 at home by United on Monday evening. The experienced full-back, the Brazilian midfielder and Hwang Hee-chan start. Ki-Jana Hoever and Arias are on the substitutes, while Jean‐Ricner Bellegarde is not in the squad altogether.

Starting Elevens

Arsenal: Raya, White, Saliba, Hincapie, Timber, Eze, Zubimendi, Rice, Saka, Gyokeres, Martinelli.

The Setup

Good evening! Because, let's be honest …

The table reveals a clear story. Arsenal sit proudly at the pinnacle of the table, while Wolves prop up the division.

… however, even though this will be the 42nd time the top side have taken on the team at the foot of the entire table – winning 30 victories from 41, with seven draws – which team is responsible for two of the four all-time upsets? Indeed, Wolves, that’s who! Therefore, although Mikel Arteta will undoubtedly be expecting another victory, the Wolves boss must know that long shots occasionally come off, and you never know. Kick-off is at 8pm GMT. The action is imminent!

(The other two last-over-first victories in the Premier League era are Oldham Athletic's 1-0 win over United in March 1993, and Tottenham Hotspur – admittedly, a surprising one - beating Liverpool in November 2008.)
